Mark has fixed at least these cameras and lenses for me:
two Yashica FR I's;
one Yashica FR II;
one Yashica FX-D Quartz;
one Yashica Lynx 14;
one Yashica Electro 35 GS;
Contax CZ Distagon® T* f/2.8 28mm;
Contax CZ Planar® T* f/1.7 50mm;
Contax CZ Tessar® T* f/2.8 45mm AE version.
Plus I have at least two more cameras packed and ready to be shipped to him for repairs (as soon as I'll have $$
).
You have to remember that he's not young person and sometimes you have to remind and direct him what to do. Otherwise he's one great repairman and I highly recommend him.
And one more observation of mine: in this photo-repair business nobody is perfect and even "Leica like" repair people make mistakes.

That's unfortunate. Maybe, if he's recovered enough, he could send me either my Canon P camera I sent for repair, or the money I paid him.

Yes, on June 14 2006, July 17 2006, August 4 2006 (left message) and August 10 2006. In the last call he promised to return the camera (not repaired) and refund my payment, but I have never received either. I gave up after further attempts to talk to him when I could not get past the filter service on his phone. Camera serial # 701003. Payment was made via Paypal on January 12 2006 for promised repairs to the camera, transaction ID 0EE7975837062142R, US$213.
When you live on another continent it is difficult to follow-up in a situation like this.

Right. I'll start running some film through the camera tomorrow. I better do that before my Bessa R arrives. I have the feeling that I'm going to be spending a lot of time with the "R". I've posted shots from my GS on other threads. Mark overhauled that camera too. Another great job.

I recieved my GX and GS back from Mark Hama today. They seem to operate flawlessly. They certainly look and smell "new".
The cameras were in his hands for 5 days (including 2 weekend days) before he put them in UPS back to me. Eight days total door to door. Sent on 9/14 back here on 9/22.
I must say that is impressive!

Okay, here is the 1st shot with the Yashica GX:
It also appears the camera may still have a problem. It appears that it does not turn off correctly. Took it to work today and several times, looked over and the meter light was glowing. This shot was taken at noon time. Now, after work, it appears that the Hama installed batteries are dead.
After a shot, the GX is supposed to turn the meter off until the next 1/2 press of the shutter button....correct??
If so...looks like this one is not doing that, and the meter is always on?

Both the GX and the GS have to go back to Mark.
GX - won't turn off correctly.
GS - works perfect but there is something in the viewfinder blocking 3/4 of the yellow arrow.
I did speak to Mark, he said send them back he would correct both cameras.

Sorry to hear that, but it's happened with me few times as well.

Agreed, everthing else was absolutely superb on both cameras. Exceeded my expectations.
I did send a list with the cameras and it's just two items...the GX not shutting off properly and something obscuring the yellow arrow in the GS's finder.
So hopefully it will be no problem to get things straight.

Update:
I finally got a word from Mark saying that my camera was CLA'ed and shipped: will post an update and pics as soon as it will arrive here
