Sensor Cleaning 001

Just cleaned my M8.2 sensor yesterday. In bathroom; take a shower, to bind dust. Blow dust with dedicated air blower, then two rounds with Dust-Wand-Kit. 15mins, no problem, sensor is clean again.

Same here, preceded by removing loose particles w/the Arctic Butterfly brush. Worked on both the M8 & M9.

I use the Visible Dust fluids and swabs on my M8. Works perfectly, I need to do about two to ten cleanups per year depending on luck.

What about the humidity from taking a shower in causing rust something else negative in the M8?

I now feel more confident about taking the M9 or M8 with me on travels. For some reason, only the M9 sensor has been getting dust. The M8 stayed clean.

It has to do with use somehow. The more these cameras get run in, the less dust they attract.

In my experience, it is best to change lens in such a way as to minimize dust.

I bought a used D3 Nikon which was full of crap. It took me half a day to clean it. It is easier on your brain to clean as soon a a spot appears.

I almost never have to spot dust. Keep the backs of your lenses clean, insides of rear caps clean. and change lenses quickly having the new on in position ready to go on.
