Seeing the number of Brisbanites on the camera tour got me thinking that we could probably do a get-together like our Sydney cousins.
I am happy to come down the hill to Brisvegas.
Or the Toowoomba Carnival is quite photogenic, whatever your photographic interest.

P.S. a suggestion: Sols Bread on cnr. Vulture & Hardgrave - good coffee, bench seats at broad tables where we can check out gear - anytime Mondays? (it's just a suggestion - there are plenty of other alternatives - West End (which seems to be Keith's stamping ground) is peppered with interesting coffee shops - we might even meet Kevin, and take a selfie! ;-)
PPS: Scrambler, Toowoomba is beautiful, and the Classic car event on 21 September - plus everything else going on up there - looks wonderful - I'm happy to go along with a majority view - and that may take a while to emerge
Or - there is the Gold Coast (if you can brave the traffic on the M1 - we almost live on the GC and in BrisVegas @ Highgate Hill) - Swell festival is on at Currumbin near to us http://www.swellsculpture.com.au/

Dan, sound like some good ideas.
I think at this stage setting a time for the next few days or even next weekend will limit numbers. Which seem to stand at 3 at the moment but I remain in hope that ricnak, hamfish and pitadotcom not to mention others might be able to attend.
I have a very minor role in the Carnival and am pre-booked the rest of the weekend.
So perhaps the Carnival (and regrettably the Swell festival - that looks very interesting!) will not be meeting points.
If we set a date perhaps a week or two after that or after 12th October if we need to avoid school holidays and a location. I don't know the options but Sols Bread sounds good.
Mondays are usually but not always possible for me.

I am bogged down in a community fundraiser that has turned into a monster at the moment. I am good for after school holidays around October 18th. Monday, Thursday and Friday's during school hours are Ok for me.
