Serenar 2,8/35 how good, how old

Lens is known for high resolution and moderate contrast. 6 elements in 4 groups, sold from 1951 on.

The one on the bay is a 28mm. I have the 35 myself, a great little lens. Don't know about that price-index though. I would not sell mine for that little money, but it may be the exchange rate...
 
I'm very pleased with the 28/3.5 (sharpness, contrast, edge-light-falloff, flare resistance) as a landscape lens. Stopped-down to f/8 contrast is very high.
The 2.8/3.5 is a low-contrast/ high-resoluution lens. Drawback for my feeling is flare of this lens is very high with any side- or backlite.
 
The lens sold for US $168.88. It was in worse shape than my slightly newer, CLA'd last fall, Canon (not Serenar) 34mm filter, all chrome 35/2.8 with original caps, finder & case. It's worth more to me to keep it.

I'll have to check that. I've not noticed flare, but I'm usually cautious about how I aim the lens. I will see if I can make it flare.
