Found a great Summilux 50mm f1.4, great glass but discounted due to the lack of a front cap....
Turns out the cap for the V.40mm that came with my Bessa R3a fits perfectly.
Just fyi.

p.s. reason for the 50mm purchase (apart from the return to my favorite range) was the vignetting I found with the 40mm - anyone else found that?
