i started reading up on batteries for our rd1 cameras and found what looked like a pretty good compromise. chinese made, u.s. imported batteries at a much better price than than oem but a bit more than the 5 buck ones. the brand was lenmar and they are available locally but also on the net/ebay at a much better price.

i ordered 2 from 'md batteries'.
unfortunately, there was a minor screw up and they only sent one. i was annoyed & wrote a nasty email to the vendor. he responded immediately and refunded my money for the one battery. but like a dog on a bone i wrote again, he responded...he CALLED me from las vegas, where his business is and on top of all this he sent me another battery...free.

this guy, mike, has customer service down like few others. he would not settle down until i was a happy, satisfied customer.
and on top of all that, with your purchase he sends along a card worth 10% off all your future purchases.

as for the batteries it's too soon to tell but they work great so far.

look him up on ebay if you need a portable source of power.

I always found the generics to be a gamble, so it's appropriate his hq is in Las Vegas🙂
But the good thing about gambling is that some people win -- and it looks like you have better luck than me.

I bought a replacement battery for my laptop from MD Batteries. Best price I could find and the product, sales, and service were fine.
I agree; good guy and good company.

Whats about the capacity of your choise battery ?
Here in Germany i saw some batterys with 1500 up to 1800 mAh !
I think some more power would be great, better for cold days.

What do you think about 1800 mAh capacity. My original Epson is about 1500 mAh, but not bad at all

the lenmar is rated 3.7/1500mah

i also have some other batteries rated at 1800 but don't notice much difference in use.

japan exposures is the only seller of the oem battery that i know of.
75 bucks american.
