Is there someone that used cheap 120 shanghay films? C someone tell to me if this kind of film is good or not?

The Shanghai GP3 film is OK, but has faults. It's /very/ curly for one thing : it's /impossible/ to get it flat, even after weeks under a press. The emulsion can have small defects, and it seems very prone to scratches (the fact the film curls on itself doesn't help !)
Beside that. you get fine grain, good sharpness and very good tones. I have a few rolls left, but I won't commit them to "serious" photos, they'll be pinhole or test rolls only. It's just too much trouble handling just a 3 * 6x6 strip by itself !
The 4x5 shanghai on the other hand is fantastic. Very solid, excellent sharpness & tones and the emulsion is nice and smooth. The base is quite thick and you can really manipulate the negs without fear of scratches.
Both film share a thick anti-halation layer, so a pre-wash is more or less mandatory if you reuse your dev. The pre-wash water is quite colorful afterward! 😀

Shanghai Era 100 35m film is nice - especially in Rodinal. Well worth the money.

Has anyone tried Shanghai GP3 (120) in Diafine? What speed did you get and how did the results compare to Rodinal?

Era does not comes from Shanghai and Shanghai does not do any 35mm film.
As a beginner, I used its 8x10 (500 sheets ordered so far) and 120 (200 boxes). To me it is god sent cheap film. Even after its recent increase 30% in price from US$0.9 to US$1.2 per 8x10 sheet. Still good for me.
I think the film is ok and scan quite well for the 120 using HC110 and contact print quite ok (also use HC110). So far I do not have quality issue (touch wood) as I got it directly from factory. But it is very curly (necessary as it does not have sticky tape to tape the film after the roll comes out.)
Having said that, Acros 100 120 seems better and I always make sure I have both of these on hand (on top of the famous fuji 50).
Also, I am ordering some non-Trix Freestyle american made 400 film (35mm) and some Tri-x 320 8x10 and when it arrived, I will do at least the 8x10 comparsion and see whether Tri-x worth nearly 4 times the price. (It may be difficult to compare M3-non-Trix vs Rolleiflex-120 I guess.)
