Well, i've had the g7 for 3mths now. Its no where close to being a rangefinder or an slr. That is not to say that it doesn't make good photos, the feel is just different and the type of shots i end up with are quite different too. That said, in this day and age, it draws a lot less attention as most people are comfortable with associating a P&S with a tourist and assume that u're just doing the touristy thing. They feel less threatened then if i were to point a "pro" camera like a 1dmk2 or a leica at them. I still visualize a lot in b/w and i must say that converted using the channel mixer tool, the b/w output of this camera isn't too far from what i like. The colors still look a bit too plasticky....
