My almost-7th grade daughter fell in love with my Olympus 35RD, which I said she could shoot anytime.
Next, she helped develop four rolls of Tri-X.
Yesterday, she checked out a b&w technique book from the library.
I'm so excited

Truth is beauty
From that pic, she looks really interested! And she has that "photographer" something...
I'd say she'll enjoy it for long, and you too!
Cheers,
Juan

Congrats!
She has good taste in cameras. Good too as her small fingers can probably do better dealing with that aperture ring.
I'm still bitter about that - it wrecks the ergonomics for me on a camera that is darn near perfect otherwise.

So wonderful to see the next generation learn. By the time she is 20, she will have a rare skill I am afraid.

I like it, David. It is impressive that she is learning from you how to process film.
My two daughters are in first and third grade, so I have started them first with digital cameras. When they get a little older, they can choose from my film cameras.

I wish I had a camera like that to carry around in school back in the day. If she does she will have wonderful memories in years to come.

Well done David, well done ;-)
I wish, my parents had shared an interest in photography, to help me get started interest into this early!

Nice. Hope she is confident enough to stand the odd looks of her friends that she uses such old stuff.

David buy her an album so she can stick photos in it. Probably one with white space so she can write stuff like a diary.

shoot pictures not people
I'd let her try an SLR too. Whatever fuels her photographic interest.

It is great to see your kid(s) enjoying and sharing the same interests like you parents, especially a photography - one art you can't do without loving it for sure!
I also gave my 10 years old son an M2 as a birthday present - he didn't appreciated very much at first, but sounds like he's enjoying it now.
