What would be the best way to shoot B&W with the Leica D-LUX 3 (or Panasonic LX2): in-cam B&W JPEG or pp'ed RAW?
Are the in-camera B&W's from these camera's anywhere near as good as those from the infamous GRD or does the noise reduction spoil the party?

I'm not sure why you would want to use the in-camera black and white mode. I'd rather start with the RAW file (or a color jpeg) and be able to use channel mixer to get the image just like I want it.
I never used it on mine so I don't know if the D-Lux 3 black and white mode is any good, but I was really happy with black and white conversions from jpeg and RAW files.

I am going to have to agree with Mel on this one
shoot normal and then convert in post processing... that is unless you don't instead to post process at all in which case shoot away with the in camera B&W
