Sounds like a lot of fun, I'll try to make it.
Also, does anybody plan on going to the camera swap in SF that day?
Found a listing of it here: San Francisco Camera Swap

This is J.P. It's a pleasure chatting with those who showed up today. That was great fun. I didn't shoot much though, only 27 frames. John, thanks for the beer.

It was fun meeting up with some old friends and meeting new friends as well. I lost Brad as soon as I crossed Market St.
, although I did enjoy talking to him while noshing on some Korean noodles. The hand-made photo books he makes are works of art. check him out
I ended up at Vesuvio Cafe in North Beach with J.P., John and Tony. John treated me to a Guinness, which was much appreciated. J.P. gave me insight into China, which I will soon be visiting. Tony, as always, made me laugh and made me think. I also enjoyed meeting Carl, Michael & Ilia as well.
I shot off a couple of rolls - Tri-X and PanF+ - along the way. Hopefully I will have something worth posting.

Thanx Robert...
I had a good time yesterday too meeting everyone. But with the huge crowds outside, quickly got separated from everyone. Ultimately ended up in Northbeach.
Took a whole bunch of snaps, but didn't feel like anything special was snagged. DId notice the light was a lot nicer and warmer around 4pm.
Will open the memory card (er, I mean film canister) tonight and see if there's anything. Took some mannequin snaps in store windows, maybe there'll be something there...

Good meeting you guys
Good meeting you guys
It was fun meeting all you rangefinder fellows: Tony, Robert, Craig, JP, Ilya, John, Brad (did I forget anybody?), even if I didn't bring a Leica
. Maybe next time we can get a table at a quiet bar and bring some of our prints to show and discuss.
Brad, your print books were a revelation. Did you print that shot of the guy with two cameras? The contrast is terrific.

Cool stuff Carl. Especially like the saturated color shots...
Michael, yeah the shot of the twin leica guy, Vladimir, was done on my inkjet printer.
Here's an online version:

Also, someone at lunch asked about the construction of the handmade book. Here's a blog entry and stop-motion video another photog (Joe Reifer, a great night photographer) recently put together:
http://www.joereifer.com/words/?p=397
The stop motion video gave me some ideas for presenting some street pix of people in motion to try out some time.

Carl, great capture of Tony.
Michael, Tony and I were thinking about the same. I found that when I am with you guys, I talk more and shoot less. Maybe next time, we meet just for chat and beer. I can host it in my apartment or the garage. (I don't understand why my tiny apartment comes with a such gigantic garage.) People can bring their prints if they want to show.

That was fun guys. Had a great time. Good to finally meet some of you and of course see some familiar faces again. I agree about just meeting and talking...shooting with a group isn't my cup of tea...too many variables and we all end up all over the place. I suspect it would work if we had a plan in advance but I would rather just sit and talk about anything.
Carl great photos as usual. Brad that print of "Vladimir" is awesome. I know him as the cameraguy as that's how he introduced himself when I met him once.
I haven't finished my roll or developed it yet so when I do I'll post some.
Let's do this again..
