I'm trying to do some "nightvision" still photography with my canonet and I'm looking for some tips. I just got a metz 20 C-2 which I was planing on covering with two strips on unexposed but processed E-6 film (the poor man's IR filter). I was going to do the same with my camera lens and use the SFX 200 stock. I can't find any examples of someone: A: Working with the stock using a flash or B: Working with the stock at night. I'm a huge fan of the work of Yohei Yoshiyuki (http://www.yossimilogallery.com/exhibitions/2007_09-kohe_yosh/) and am trying to shoot in a similar style inside subway tunnels here in New York.
My main questions are if the SFX range will beable to see the IR light from my flash and whether and if not would using the ilford recomended filter over my flash help me get that range? I can't find HIE anywhere and it looks like the SFX is quickly becoming my only hope.
I'm also trying to find general advice for using an IR flash at night.
This is my first post on RFF and I'm really excited to hear your responses. Thank you for your time.
