Shooting w/ a lens that has separation

I recently picked up an older Summitar with a 610 serial, dating it to about 1946. It's coated and has hardly any scratches, but seems to have what looks like separation or something. I got it CLA'ed but the repairman couldn't do anything about the front element. My question is, how much will this affect my overall image quality? I intend on using a hood etc. Here's a photo of the lens.

I can't answer your question directly but I had the front two elements of my Summitar glued back together at Focal Point—looks like new.
