Short test of R-D1 + CV Color Skopar 21/4 P

I agree of course but the great Elmarit 21/2.8 asph is not that sharp at wide aperture either. At this size and price the little Skopar has no competition so far IMHO. I mean with the R-D1 of course given that the Super Angulon 21/4 protrudes too deep into the body.

the image of cv21 at f8 looks impressive. what dimensionality! but F4 images look somewhat soft 🙁 though I like price of cv lenses and it might help me to decide which FL suits me better 21 or 25 without needing put 2 grands out 🙂

Yes but when you apply the same sharpening to f/4 and f/8 pictures, the latter remain sharper anyway.

Just developed some Skopar 21/4 P files with the Silkypix raw converter.
It is a bit softer and less film-like than the Epson standalone & plug-in raw converters but it manages much better vignetting with the R-D1.
Gives also better results with tungsten pictures.
A best buy IMHO.

Some more with the Skopar. New lens for me also. I use the Ricoh GRD VF 21/28 and the 28 lines are just about perfect.

All processed with Epson Raw.
