I thought film shooters were the Rebel Alliance and it turns out we're the bad guys. It's like Apple all over again.

I'm in the process of shooting the film out. That is, I will shoot it for as long as I find some, and by the time it's gone, either I will be gone too, or there will be some digital mirrorless that will finally faithfully reproduce Tri X, in which case I'll enjoy all my carefully selected lenses.

Nah... it's Deja-vu all over again.
Interestingly, our "local" camera store used to have a really nice selection of used film gear quite reasonably priced. They transitioned to digital along with everyone else while continuing to nurse their film business along. They've recently invested heavily in new C41 film processing equipment for which I am grateful; but alas, their film equipment corner remains empty. More's the pity. I'd think that if they want to promote shooting film, that they'd want to stock and sell film gear again. Not that I need any...

Might not be completely on the topic, but it's related, just an opinion.
I'd be more worried if I were a compact camera manufacturer. Smartphones are chewing in slowly.
I've gotten a nice flagship smartphone as my previous crappy one broke. Kudos to the yearly model releases as thanks to this I could have it for a decent price.
Which brings me to the point, I'm using film slightly more because I tended to use digital just for the convenience. Nowadays I'm much less worried about it. The phone takes care of the snaps and visual journal and I let film kick in when I want.
I was skeptical, but these 1/3" sensors aren't that bad for something like this. If they got around and started putting bigger sensors (1/1.7"-1/2.3") with better low light sensitivity...
And with a decent lightmeter app it can be a useful "second opinion" on exposure.
I'm just thinking when and what to expose on the frames I've got left in this portra roll...
Perhaps something like the LP/CD happens. Nowadays CD's seem to be in a more awkward situation than LP's. Give me those 96/24 files instead.
