Should I clean my Summicron 90?

I just bought a used Summicron 90 but found some dings like grease at the front lens element. Should I clean it by lens cloth? I am hesitated because I read some articles said old Summicron's coatings are very soft that easily scratched no matter how gentle to clean. 😕

As long as you stay away from chemicals and abrasive cloths, you'll be fine with any lens, and any lens coating, no matter how "old" or "soft" they are. An old fashioned cloth diaper and your hot breath is all you'll need. A microfiber cleaning cloth is a good modern alternative, used either dry, or with your breath first.
