Hi,

I have the possibility to buy a used, but very clean XE-1 for 450$ CAD. I think it's a good deal. I recently sold my heavy dslr equipment to get something lighter to carry all around. Should I jump on that deal, even if the XE-2, or newer cameras are coming on the market? If so, what is the lens you would recommend the most to get with.

Thanks

I think thats a FANTASTIC deal. I'm shopping around for a used XE-1 myself in Toronto and I can't find prices below $500. If I was in your situation and that was a black body, I'd be pulling the GAS trigger right away.
I'm planning to use it exclusively with M-mount lenses so I don't mind the AF too much. You might want to hold out for the XE-2 if you want faster AF.
If you like full frame then you might consider the Sony A7. I heard that it is a great camera for 35mm M lenses and longer.

I recently picked up a new XE-1 for $600. Very happy with it but I am using only M Mount glass so far.

yeah I'm also torn with this one. There are more and more good deals on xe-ones which is very tempting, however I suspect that the split image focusing on the xe-two with M lenses could be game changing. I also want to see how much better af on the xe-two really is, but apparently I need to do it after the lenses firmware update (expected sometime this month) to take full advantage of the PDAF on the xe-two.

Bottom line: probably best to wait, xe-one prices are not going up anytime soon.
