I live across the street from a park that looks somewhat similar to your first three pictures, and I'm sort of in the same boat; trying to figure out if I should use color or black and white. I am leaning toward color, just because I haven't been able to capture the feeling of the trees in black and white. What I think you need for a forest shot to work in monochrome is great light. If the scene has that, then you might get something good. Below are a few of my tries that I think work in color, and a couple that look cool to me in black and white.
having fall colors helps!
this one is sort of like your last picture, and I think it works very well in black and white.

To me color is more immediate and B&W more timeless.
EDIT: Short answer - yes. Try Astia 100F or Velvia 50 next for some snap.

I like the B&W shots as well in this case.
For autumn foliage I would like to see pics in color - but only to indulge my nostalgia for Southern Ontario.

It depends what you're photographing - is it the colour of the scene or the form/texture/contrast of an object?
The comparison of the two close-ups of plants shows this very well and your preference should answer your question.

I think the pictures are nice as they are, but there is a definite argument for color there. The foliage in those particular frames doesn't have the strong shapes and tonal variation to be as punchy in B&W as they would be in color.

I think the b&w looks fine. Glad to see your still shooting film. What camera was used?

Color, color and more color! Lets celebrate the LIFE!!
The same Mamiya Super Deluxe camera with f/1.5 lens. I used cheapo CVS iSO200/24 film and CVS's developing and scanning services (with some help from my trusty Sekonic L-358 meter).

I think they worked out great with black and white. It gives a different mood. I've been toying with shooting scenes in black and white that traditionally work best with color.

Color, yuck. I've decided that I just don't like color any more. I'm gonna get some dark brown sunglasses and wear them all the time.
Besides, there are no girls in the color pictures.
