WARNING: serious post ahead.

A while back I got a photo of a guy wearing a T-shirt saying"Jesus - The only way" talking to a somewhat astonished muslim girl who's pointing at herself, apparently saying, "Me???".

We often get missionary types around here in Summer.

There is also the odd very sad case of muslim women getting killed by their own relatives, for "dishonoring" the family.

So, I thought the picture was funny, or at least interesting.

Now, whatever you may think of my photos, I have the greatest respect for the people I shoot and since I don't want there to be the slightest chance of anyone getting into trouble, I have self-censored this. :( which makes me feel pretty bad too :bang:

Realistically, the only people who would see the image are rangefinder shooters - and we're not nutcases, are we?

It is both political and religious. Both are off limits in the USA, but you should post it. I'm a nutcase, or at least my wife thinks I am. Let it fly.

I wouldn't hesitate ... I can't see anyone being offended by the image you have described. Muslim or Christian! :)

You're not a nutcase then, are you? :)

PS. Hey! Maybe *I'm* paranoid?

Go for it.
Remembering always that a free media is a force of liberation.
The more tyranny pushes its way into our everyday lives, the further cameras*, keyboards, and other communications are pushed away.

People will be offended no matter what you post sometimes. My main reasoning is who cares. The world thrives on controversy and offense. Some of the most beautiful and emotional images and pieces of art in this world have offended thousands of human beings on this planet in one form or another.

So with that in mind... post away! :)

Anyway ... if people want to be really be offended they can watch the evening news and check out the latest war zone body counts ... and if that doesn't work they can watch 'Idol.' :bang:

It's a hell of a world we live in and your pic is the least of it's problems!

Off limits in the USA? You have got to be kidding! At least I hope you are.

To the the originator of this thread, yes, by all means please post it.

OK, I had another look and it's a female she's talking to. So I suppose that's OK.

Although some of you misunderstood about offending people. That wasn't the point.

Nice catch! No one in their right mind would be offended by this. You are observing something happening in real life. You didn't pay someone to wear a Jesus shirt and confront a Muslim woman...
...or did you? ;)

i don't think colin was concerned about offending folks here at rff, i think he was concerned for the woman's safety.

if you want to be offended i can look for my old t-shirt that read...'nuke the gay whales for jesus'
;)

The girl's face indicates to me a serious discussion is underway. She may be trying to convert the christian. Nice street shot. If I had seen it I would have shot it and a few others. It looks like an interesting exchange.

Colin thats a good photo. I love the expression of the musilm womans face, and I wouldn't worry about her being in danger of her family unless you have another photo of the girl bowing down with the christian lady trusting Jesus to save her soul.

Excellent shot. Thank you for sharing it after expressing your concerns.

Nice shot.

A messenger is a messenger is a messenger! So post away. Also, not sure why anyone will be offended!! Do you know: according to the holy Qur'an, not believing in Jesus or in the (original) holy Bible makes you a non-Muslim?

Cheers,
