Should we go back to the old RFF for a month while we work on the new RFF site?

I do support the new site but we did loose some good people - Helen especially - and I wonder if we did go back if they would return.

I’m 66 years old and I’ve been a member of a few forums in my lifetime. I’ve left them all except this one… and maybe someday I’ll leave this one too; who knows.?

Regarding the people that leave this forum because the new site doesn't sit well with them I say “adios amigo”. If you leave because the new site irritates you, maybe you weren't all that serious about being a member of this community in the first place.

Perhaps maybe, some people wanted to leave already and move on with their lives and the forum upgrade was as good an excuse as any to say goodbye.

Folks, In my opinion, if you want to stick it out and be a part of this community, stand shoulder to shoulder with the admins and mods who are doing their best, that’s great.

If good enough isn’t good enough for you and you think that your free membership isn't enough of a return on your value, well, life goes on. Do what you need to do.

Well I for one wish you would return it and leave it. What was wrong with what we were all using ????
The only complaints I remember were regarding the difficulty in uploading images and I was one of them. I would add one more topic for posting, that being a place to share an article.
I absolutely detest this new site, being an owner of an Airstream and knowing a site associated with them, this new one here is a mirror image of it but even worse.
And lastly I am sick and tired of having to go from the bottom of page one, to get onto the last page to read the latest post.

Over the years I've been a member of the forum, I've mostly read and absorbed information. The new site seems like it will be an avenue for me to contribute a bit more than in the past. Thus far, it hasn't been. I'm frustrated. However, the new site but it has potential the old one didn't have. So I guess I'm in favor of sticking with the new site. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Simply put: the software that the forum was built on was outdated and no longer receiving updates - which both led to the stability problems the forum was exhibiting in recent years (with it being inaccessible/down intermittently) and would also lead to security issues (forum software is a common target for hackers).

The change to more modern software is essential if RFF is going to continue to exist. There's no other way about it.

For what I use and how I use it, the new RFF site is working almost perfectly. I don't use a lot of stuff it offers, for sure: things like the gallery I never use at all. I come here mostly to participate in discussions about equipment and techniques.

New RFF is more intuitive than the old one. For relatively younger generations, new RFF is easier to use from user interface/user experience perspective. If time and effort and cost maintainingthe new RFF is better off than the old in the long run then I think new RFF is the choice.

I came back to the forum after sometimes . Up dated my profile etc. And tried to post some images and they all failed and missed . I just left a note and said i think I am not going to take trouble posting anymore photos to the forum galleries. That is the most comfortable way. I just hang around as usually and listening and talking.
I have just set the layout to Black and I like it. New face lift is good looking.

However I appreciate the hard work done to get to this level and Thank you all who had a hand to do it.
So I voted and I'd say stay the course with the new RFF. Old is the past and it is always good move forward.

Totally agree although ,I too haven`t worked out how to post images on this new site .
RFF has always been my go to and although recently I`ve tried other sites this has always been home (if that doesn`t sound too sentimental)
