Shoulder bag with tripod attachment?

Preferably something low key and in waxed canvas. Prefer not to use leather.

Think Tank Retrospective series does not seem to hava tripod attachement.

I have a Velbon UT-43 that folds up short enough to fit in a shoulder bag, so that may be the route I go. I also often go out with a Tamrac Zipshot that basically uses tent-pole style shock-corded legs. Folded up it is a bit long. Would be nice to have a way to lash it to the outside of a should bag.

Well you could get the Billingham Packington or the smaller 5 series bags, like the 225. They have additional tripod leather straps you could buy separately to attach to the bag if you don't use the also additional backpack straps.

I use the normal Timbuktu messenger bag w/ a snoop camera insert (extra small) which can fit both my dp1 & 2 m plus enough space left for the rx100 easy. A small can fit my xe1 w/ 14, xp2 w/ 35 and space for an extra lens.

The Timbuktu camera bag uses the same inserts, but has the tripod straps on it. I have never physical played w/ this bag though.

I have several Timbuktu messenger bags. One that fits up to a 15 inch mac book pro can use up to a medium snoop camera insert but is a tight fit. The one I normally use is for an 11-13 inch laptop and can hold up to a small, but I prefer a extra small so I don't overload the bag.

What I like about these bags is they look like plain messenger bags.

My last bag was an A&A, and while it was really good, the workmanship/design was sh#@$#, and the bag wore out after a couple of years. Might have been a problem particular to the model I bought, but I won't be buying an A&A again.

I was also looking at Moop bags for the same reason, plus I like the waxed canvas look. But getting one sent over here will be an expensive proposition.

Last night just before going to sleep, I stumbled across Mantona, a German manufacturer of bags, tripods and other stuff: http://www.mantona.de/produkte

Prices here in Europe are very reasonable.

They have what looks like an excellent carbon-titanium tripod that weighs under 1kg and costs less than half of some of the famous high end models by other manufacturers. I think I will definitely save to get one.

The bags look very functional. Most don't really appeal to me, but the "cool bag" looks like a good bag for a small kit, while the Rhodolit backpack looks like a decent tripod-carrying backpack for about 1/3 the price of what a similar pack from Think Tank would cost over here.

They also make a sling carrier for a tripod.
