Charles, that would be if you could add two cylinders without an increase in weight and a then-less-balanced chassis. A great part of the magic of the MX5 is in the balanced weight distribution, front to back.

I'll always prioritize chassis over ultimate power.

Indeed - every part works together. My only beef with the MX5 is it is just a little bit too small. Grow it a little so there is a touch more cabin and luggage space, and put a tuneful 2.5V6 in the front - Mazda made some gorgeous V6s.

I can dream!
