Thanks, Doug, when I first saw it in the distance I thought it was some kind of kit car or maybe a Caterham 7, but as it got closer I knew it was a Morgan. First 3 wheeler Morgan for me to spot in Yokohama.
We were followed the other weekedn round our village by an original 1930s one - luckily SWMBO was driving so I could get a stiff neck craning at it and watching all the valve gear rattling away!
A fleeting moment. I was standing on a bridge waiting for my wife when I spotted this Mercedes-Benz 190 SL motoring down the road. My camera was already in my hand; I just barely had time to switch it on and swing it up to my face to get this picture as he drove by. And, then he was gone.

Brings back memories! When I was 19 yo (1973), there was one of these sitting on a side street with a For Sale sign asking for $600 on the windshield. I could afford it, but it was in fairly disreputable shape and I feared that I could afford to get it running and safe... sigh.
Yes, 1996 sounds about right. FIAT had pulled Alfa Romeo out of the US market by then (in 1991, I believe) so we almost never saw this model on the road here. Alfa Romeo (and FIAT) has only recently returned to the US market with the modern 4C coupe and Guilia.
A pretty, and unusual, car ... Very different from the Spiders that preceded it! 🙂
