A beautiful Porsche!
For American cars, for sure, disc brakes were few and far between until the late '60s/'70s. But the Jaguar E-Type (1960(?)) had disc brakes all around, so did the Lancia Fulvia (Berlina 1963, Coupe and Sport 1965), amongst others.
It's amazing to me that disc brakes were such a slow, long process to be incorporated into standard production. They came into being in the early 1950s and were tested in racing by Stirling Moss and other notables, promoted by Dunlop and Girling.
But onwards ... my nice old car is coming along well. I was at the shop yesterday ... We're getting very very close.
Those brakes were very un-60's like disc in front on the Avanti.

C type Jag from '53 I think, the TR3 had front discs from '56.
The Citroen DS had them from '55 but then it came from another planet.

Seems to be an absence for Citroen DS/CX/GS/SM/XM etc in Japan?
