Show me your coastal landscapes with 35 and 50 mm lenses

Man, you guys make my coastal shots look positively pathetic. I say "positively" because your photos encourage me to go out and shoot. I'm no where near creating great photos such as these, but I'm learning so much from you guys and having so much fun at the same time.

Rich,

My favorites of yours are #1, #2 fantastic!, #4, #6

Kris, nice shot, I like the composition and the light

Stuart, nice sense of humor!!

Rich, love the bridge shot. Hope you don't mind that it just became my desktop wallpaper here at work...

35 & 50mm Seascapes

Gee Lars, I think Rich set the bar so high the rest of us are afraid to post anything. I will try anyway, with a few J12 & J3 shots.

J12 first

Another J12 shot, this one with big-time flare from sun just out of frame.

Last J3 -- Some seaside shots are not seascapes -- 50mm still OK.

waouua, I'm still so amazed by your pictures Richard. It's interesting to see how a beach landscape can be transformed by B&W. The bridge one is amazing too !
I knew I still had a long way to improve myself but then when I see your amazing pics !

I do have to learn a lot from all of you , guys !
Thank's for "opening my eyes".

Great shot Jorge! Do you have any vertical panoramic shots? I spent some time in Japan and have seen and enjoyed viewing some traditional wood block vertical pano images, often arranged in groups of 3. (triptych)

Some lovely shots here, guys.

Kris, don't get despondent. I feel exactly the way you do looking at Rich's shots, when I look at yours!

Nevertheless, here's a shot taken with a 50mm (but an SLR, shhhh)

Cheers,
Steve

you guys are all gonna kill yourselves if you keep comparing your shots to other people's.
there will always be better shooters than you.
and there will always be worse.

find your vision, keep shooting until you do.
please yourself first.
if others like your stuff - great.
if not, who gives a rat's behind?

sure it's nice to compliment other's work but not at the expense of your own.

today's sermon is now finished.

Thanks Joe!

In a way, I guess that's exactly what I was saying.

On a good day, like Henry Cartier-Bresson, Cornell Capa, etc etc, you guys are a great inspiration.

On a bad day....

Cheers,
Steve

Have missed this thread, been busy.

Here's one of mine. Kaikoura Bay, South Island of New Zealand, just pre-dawn.
Bessa R, CV 21mm/f4, Fuji Provia 100.

Have to agree, there's some great shots here, taken with an eye I just do not have. But then, the fact that we all see different things from the same scene is one of the things that makes it all fun!

Re: Show me your coastal landscapes with 35 and 50 mm lenses

I've also one ... hope it counts :)

Marina di Pisa (tuscany, italy)
55mm lens to a 6x4,5 negative (the 55 should be equal to a 35mm at 135 films, and yesit was a rangefinder which I borrowed for this trip from a friend)
Ilford PanF+ used at 25 ASA

interesting, what did this beautiful sepia color, is it a color processing or is it due to this film : Ilford PanF ?
