ultra8, I wanted to ask: did you burn in the clouds? They really look like they are taking aim at that boat. I keep coming back to this powerful image.

Hi Erik,
top notch prints - especially boat, man and plank. What's your secret?

I have no printing secret; yes I started printing fifty years ago (as a boy).
The prints I make now are all split grade prints made on Adox MCC 110. Great paper and split grade printing is an awesome technique. Very simple though as you need only two filters, the numbers 00 and 5. The other ten from the set you can throw away.

BLKRCAT
75% Film
You have some sort of automatic head though? whenever I split grade It's always very tedious because I have to make sure that I don't move the head too much switching the filters around.

Buy a good, solid enlarger. Any good enlarger with a smooth filter drawer will do.
I have a Focomat IIc with a filter drawer.

I shot these two days ago. The 8x10" prints are still wet. This morning I read Bill Pierce's article on lens testing. These are f5.6 at 1/60th on FP4+ w/ a yellow filter. Prints are on Ilford Classic. I am very glad to have sold my color skopar 28 f 3.5 (as good as it is)...& replaced it with this 1933 Elmar 3.5 cm f 3.5 Love the lens on the black & nickel iiii. Please pardon the inaccurate cropping, Flickrs editor was not working. Keep giving this lens poor reviews....& help keep the prices down. ;-)

Beautiful prints! I love the second one with the harsh light.
Indeed is a 35mm much more useful than an 28mm.
