12"x16" is a beautiful but uncommon size. I have half a box of Foma Variant lll left. I don't like to print very large from 35mm negatives, but for the exceptional image, 12"x16" mounted on a 20"x24" mat is large enough to fit in with medium format prints, without the small negative tonality falling apart.
It is an almost impossible size to find in N America

Gorgeous Greg - I must try some medium format Foma 400 in Pyro, I do find it a bit too grainy in 35mm.

Thank you Charles. I was just using up orphan rolls that were in my film fridge. I don't particularly care for the film and far prefer my regulars in order of preference 1. FP4+, 2. Tri-X /TMax 400. I was happy to get a couple of keepers on the test roll of the new Plaubel Makina 670.

Finished print on the very last of my favourite paper; Forte Polywarmtone vc fb, (discontinued 2007 ?)(11"x14" on 16"x20" matt). More delicacy than Ilford Classic & more tonal separation & more glow in the highlights that Fomabrom Variant.

Beautiful! Yes, Forte finally closed in January 2007. So not so much discontinued as ended.

I still have some frozen, and Adox are working on a Polywarmton reformulation. Unfortunately I don't think it will have the 300 gsm base the original had.

Thanks Marty. You're right of course. It was not the discontinuation, but the demise. Adox has said .....promised... but you can't even get MCC 110 in Europe or North America at the moment. B&H says back ordered and special order.... but it isn't and it doesn't show up.
No question, it would be a great day.
