Thank you. Santorini is a wedding hot spot, I suddenly looked up and saw the image. Too small for my Hasselblad SWC/M but absolutely perfect for the Rolleiflex, I usually use a spot meter for accuracy but was concerned I would miss the image, so used the built in meter.
It really is a lovely print and is now framed.
I wish I knew their whereabouts, as I believe it’s a better image than their clicker took of them that day. Just hope their marriage lasts as long as my mechanical cameras have.

This is possibly my favourite thread on the forum and it’s your regular infusion of very fine images that make it special, Erik. Thanks for taking the time to do that and long may you continue. Can I ask a question? Is there any particular reason you always print on 17.8x24? And are you still using Adox?

No, I am not using Adox MCC 110 at the moment, it is no longer made because of a conflict with Ilford. Maybe when the Brexit is completed it will be made again. The Adox has a smoother surface, therefore it is better to be scanned IMO. Now I use Ilford MGFB.

I like the 17,8x24cm format because I've been using it since I was a kid. It is the most popular format in The Netherlands (easy to get).

I’ve been trying to find a paper and surface I really like and thought I had it with Fomatone MG Classic 133. It has a fine grained surface quite similar to the old Agfa Record Rapid stipple which was my favourite. However, the 133 surface is very hard to find and I think Foma may be phasing it out.

I may just have to stick with Ilford FB glossy although I don’t like the surface as much as I used to.

I agree! Ilford FB glossy is smooth, but also rough, difficult to describe. It scratches easily when you wipe it off with a micro fiber cloth. The Adox MCC 110 glossy is much better.

When you dry Ilford FB glossy in a Büscher drying press, the surface is damaged by the canvas of the Büscher. I've found out however that when you cover the print when drying with a very smooth piece of micro fiber cloth it is not damaged. The surface of Adox MCC110 is much better in my opinion, this paper can simply be dried in a Büscher.

With "Agfa Record Rapid stipple" you mean perhaps "filigree"; I haven't seen that for many years.

There aren't too many options now so it's probably best just to be grateful there's anything there at all! However, I'm going to see if I can get the Fomatone 133 surface directly from the Foma factory before buying more Ilford.

Yes, also the Ilford paper is really pricey now.

I've no experience with Foma. I'm always hoping that the Adox paper comes back.
