Interesting how designs are applied across the board: I'd recognize these window grills anywhere as 'Eastern European'. To a similar degree with regards to parquet flooring and office furniture.

Yes, that struck me too, typical of the soviet architectural style from the fifties and sixties.

This shot is from 2005, Belorussia, see the advertisement for highly sophisticated gear on the trolleybuses. I did not see a single computer or digital camera there.
