Hi,
I am planning on buying a M4, I want to see some photos of good combos. I will put a CV 35 Ultron on it to start with but ultimately go for a 35 summilux. All chrome of course.
Show any modifications you've done to it, M3 levers, new skin... I want to see crazy combos!!
Also, which lightmeter would you recommend with it, handheld vs hotshoe mount?
Finally, what would be a good price for one in good cosmetic condition and perfect working order?
By the way, if you are selling one, please send me a PM.
Cheers
Max

Don't have the M4 with me, so can't show what I've done to it here and now. But what I've done to it amounts to:
1. kitbash a lens release catch from a piece of metal because the original broke
2. outfit it with a Konica strap because that's what I had lying around
3. tape two exposure guides on it, one on the bottom plate, one on the back to help me remember how sunny 16 works
It's nowhere near as nice looking as Ron's, but hey, it can take a picture mighty fine.

I love this pic of Jim Marshall's M4.

Mine looks boring by comparison.

My M4 with Elmar 50/2.8 and SBOOI:
A good resource is eBay, and the pics attached to items on sale. M4 bodies are always available.

Very OT:

Could you show us how it looks like?

- I replaced the black washer under the self timer lever...
- I've changed all the lever for M3 levers (single stroke)
but put back on the old M4 levers because for the style on the M4 itself, it's more original and more beautiful IMHO. The old style levers are more beautiful no question asked but they look good on the original M2 and M3. So If I really want the old lever look that is so attractive, then I'll buy myself a M3 someday!
-Also note if you plan on buying a M4 be sure you don't want a leicavit or a Tom's rapidwinder, you must know that the M4 will need modification in order to accept one of these (thus loosing its originality)
-I love my M4 but I am thinking about putting a leicavit on it!

Not quite an M4, but still a great tool. M4-P is a wonderful and durable workhorse
