The Russians are coming... by

I have to admit, I have a knack for analog cameras. It gets even worse, if they run without batteries. And after recently reading Robert Capa's "Slightly out of Focus", I wanted to see how I would like to shoot a Contax. They're kinda out of my price range, but there are Kievs...
And while it was still on its way from the Ukraine (and me reading more about FSU rangefinders) I thought I'd take a try at a Barnack-based camera too...
So here they are. Two Zorki 4k (one "romanized", one cyrillic) the bodys and shutters seem to be in great order, running smoothly and evenly.
A Zorki (1) from 1953, which was a completely different story. Slow (or sometimes sticking) shutter curtains, with holes in them...
I decided against a curtain replacement (for now) - after cleaning and lubeing the shutter seemed to run fine, so I painted the back of the curtains with some black textile paint. A color negative film is in there now (I ran out of bw negative film...waiting for more), let's see how it worked out...
Unfortunately the aperture ring on the Industar-22 after easing up for a while without taking the lens apart (just some WD-40 between the ring and the frontplate) is back to digging into my fingertips again...
The Kiev still needs some CLA (and hints, before I start?). The 4k - they're great cameras, but I really fell in love with the magnifying rangefinder on the Zorki 1 - bright, enlarged, so quick to focus (with the infinity lock lever).
Sorry, this got really long, but I am excited and happy right now.
PS: The lenses on the 4k are an Industar-50 and an I-61 (2.8/53) - I guess I will be looking for a J-8/M39...
