Thanks. I don't know offhand, but first chance I get, I'll get the vernier caliper out and measure it.

Kiev II (1955) with Jupiter-8 (1957), I use it with a Sekonic L-208 meter, and a black vented hood, of course...

Kiev "de Luxe" and three more pictures
Hello "infrequent"
thanks for watching my funny Kiev! Because of my poor school-English (preventing me from posting more on this wonderful forum...), I don´t understand, what the term "out of transformers" means. Maybe you think, the pictures are faked .
This camera is real:angel: and was a hell of a work, especially the paint-job. It is completely overhauled, runs very smooth and accurate in all shutter-speeds, meter works, perfect rangefinder... Three Cheers to Kiev Survival Site!
Leatherette is from Micro-Tools, lens from Zeiss, lacquers from Audi, Volkswagen and GM - nothing from Adobe.
Many Greetings to the whole community
Peter

@zentralverschluss - first of all nothing wrong with your english. so i look forward to more of your postings here!
'transformers' was originally a tv show and finally they completed the cycle with a movie last year. the basic premise is the battle between two groups -- good vs bad -- autobots vs decepticons.
these robots are actually familiar things like trucks, planes, cars and "transform" into a big hulking robot when in battle.
couple of links that might help you visualise this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_(film)#Autobots
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimus_Prime
and a video clip from the movie showing the robots "transforming":

coming back to my first remark: i half expect your camera to transform into a lean, mean, fighting robot. its a thing of beauty...a wunderkamera!

Zentralverschluss,
Nice work. That is a complicated project you did on your Kiev. The paint looks very professional. I am sure that is the only Kiev on the planet with that paint scheme. Keep up the good work!

thanks to steve and infrequent for the friendly appreciation for my weird camera and the explicitely explanation of "transformers"! Im afraid, that after transforming into a fighting robot, my Contax IIa and IIIa are in severe difficulties...
Cheers

So far, this is the only other one I've got of it. I'll put more on my Flickr "Photographica" set, when I get a chance.Peter_Jones said:Cool - more pics needed![]()

As to actual photos from it, no chance yet. It has no take-up spool, but I've also bought one of these from eBay... and am still waiting on its delivery.
Oh, and its shutter fires like a dream, unlike the Leica Standard which is in need of a service now.

That's outrageous ... I love it!
But I want to see someone do it to their M8!
