Sounds good to me
Maybe edit out unrelated post's unless anyone feels it smacks of censorship

Leningrad with Latin engraving
Leningrad with Cyrillic engraving.
A trio of Leningrad's
Funnily enough The Cyrillic which was bought as a spares/repair turned out to be nothing more than a jammed wind on
and the Latin which I was warned had a dark spot in the rangefinder window actually has a collapsed rangefinder , The seller did try to photograph it for me but with little success , So it's out with the jewellers screwdrivers and try and find out if it's rescuable .

Three Jupiters and a Zorki
My first ever rangefinder system: J-8, J-9, J-12, Zorki-6 with KMZ turret viewfinder - the body was the last piece, it arrived a few weeks ago. Still undergoing sea trials.
. My old and dirty flatbed is not really up to the task of scanning Tri-X.

Arrived yesterday. The first model Zorki-4 (1956) with the framed windows, etched logo, strap lugs and vulcanite. Impressive Soviet class and luxury! The J8 has perfect glass. With prices for user M3's in the many-hundred-dollar range I really don't understand why these beautiful Zorki-4's are so cheap. After a night of fondling I loaded a film and will do some shooting this weekend.

Thanks Mike.
Gorgeous pictures..., well I put the camera on the table, aim the DSLR
No kidding, I take the photos in my glasshouse, with light from above and one side. I make sure that there is no direct sunlight. The Canon 20D is usually on a tripod and the 100mm macro lens is mounted (although not for this picture. Here I used the 24-105 L IS).

Ah, she's a beauty! Reminds me of my 1959 Z4 with silver J8, a camera I enjoy even when I'm not shooting with it - it's like a lovely scupture adorning my office book shelf.

Hi... This is for nando, andreabianco and anyone else,
Is the I-22 collapsible 50... is it as good as the legendary J8?
Thanks, mike

Mike,
I feel that the I-22 compares very well to the lens it copies - the Leitz 50/3,5 Elmar. The advantage of the I-22 is it makes for a very compact camera when collapsed. I find the focusing to be very snappy. Great for street shooting but its a pretty slow lens for indoor use. I just got the Zorki and I-22 recently and I've been mainly using it outdoors at f5.6 and f8. The aperture ring on the inside is a bit of a nuisance but I just set it and forget it. I took a few shots at f3.5 and the bokeh wasn't too bad. I do not have a J8 but I have a J3 which is similar. I love how the J3 renders photographs especially wide open. It's one of my favourite lenses and its very sharp stopped down. Colour rendition is also very nice. It is very compact for such a fast lens but its no where near as compact as the I-22 when collapsed. In terms of handling, setting aperture on the J3 is much easier but focusing is not as quick. It wouldn't be a bad idea two FSU 50's - an Industar collapsible for street shooting and portability as well as a fast Jupiter for indoor and general use. That's my 2 cents.

Mike,
I've used my collapsible I22 a lot, both with color and bw film, and I must say it's a very good and reliable performer. It also makes the fed2 much more compact and a joy to use.
You know, it is said that quality in lenses and cameras from FSU is often all about being lucky, but all of the equipment I bought in my life was/is workin perfectly. I also own a J8 on Kiev4 and another J8 on a Zorki4, and I must say that my I22 is not less good than 'em in many situations, at all.
See ya!
