Show off your TLR!

Nice find and did not break the bank Noll. Would not mind a late model C330 but I am on the lookout for more Sekor glass , I have a black 80 f2.8, silver 105 f3.5 and a 250 f6.3 but would like a 180 or 135 and shades at the right price , they don't come up often in this end of the world and usually sell with a camera but I live in hope.

May be it's the Welta world. I've a Weltur 6x9 and build quality is superior to Super Ikontas.
 
I was visiting a friend and I find that he was a successful professional photographer back in the '80s. He got burned out and closed shops and did not look back... Anyway, he got all enthused about talking old times and sharing his story with me. Anyway, at the end of the evening he made me a gift of this.

I still can't work out this camera.
When I bought it I couldn't believe that it was in such brilliant original condition with hardly any signs of use or of age (around 80 years). But surely this would be a very difficult camera to restore, particularly the "Art Deco" panels?
The one thing that makes me think the condition is original is the condition of the case which is just astounding for an 80 year old piece of leather.

Wow, where did you find this thing? It looks like it has been in a sealed box of argon since it was born, including through the Blitz (if that's which side of the Channel it was on at the time).

If that's the original leather strap, however, I'd give it several serious hard yanks to see if you can break it. That feels wrong to do that to the original equipment, but better to find out that way than to have it break unexpectedly when this pristine camera is over the pavement.

Wow! What a beauty.
Why don't they make modern cameras with Art Deco finishes anymore? ;-)
 
I just got this beauty home, a Voigtländer Superb with a Heliar 7.5cm 1:3,5 from 1934.
The most interesting thing with this camera is how it corrects for parallax by tilting the whole top focusing unit downwards at closer ranges.
It's an interesting camera since everything is kind of engineered in circles. Everything is simply different from the norm, the Voigtländer (patent avoidence) way. They even made the film go horizontal and wound by a lever instead of a knob or a crank.

It seems to have seen very little use. Shutter fires on all speeds. Light meter is responsive. Even the self timer runs!

I took a punt on an Ebay "as is" sale and paid slightly over the odds at 200USD.

Camera seems to have been stored in its case... which would account for the condition.

Am so very pleased. These cameras aren't exactly common. Can't wait to run a roll of film through it!
