Wexford, now after a month of ownership, how do you get on with this camera in real usage, and have you got other TLRs with fancier focus (lever/slider or knob) to compare with? I am considering these gear-focused Ricohs (and similar) for a backup/knockabout TLR, but not sure I could get used to the ergonomics, compared to my Rolleiflex (a 2.8E) and Mamiya C330. There's certainly less to go wrong with the thing though.

Rolleiflex 3.5 E Planar - amazing lens! I had an Automat and various Tessar & Xenotar Rolleicords before, that Planar is just super good.

Battered and beautiful. This one should be a good user. Worn and tattered, but smooth as silk where it counts.

Ia, IIc, IIe, III, and two V. None of them are quite as pretty as your friend's is, I hope that he is able to recover it.Indeed a great collection! 2 x Rollei III and 2 x Rollei V ?

Indeed he had a looker - it was stolen the day before he had to finish his holiday of a 4-weeks tour in the states and had to flew back to The Netherlands. He is more sad about all the films that were stolen too - he shot several b&w rolls in New York since he wanted the feel of Vivian Maier and he shot some in Savannah Georgia. The Rolleicord was a family piece...:bang:
B.t.w. I like your 4KA - its the camera that gave Vivian Maier her mostly now known pictures. Always wanted to buy one, but they are hard to find in a reasonable state.

I had actually located the K4A for a friend who wanted a Rolleiflex. He decided that it was not right for him, and I happily bought it from him. It filled a gap in my collection, and it is probably the nicest one in my collection.
At least until that 2.8C that I bought yesterday is delivered.

Lovely camera. Was once my first Rolleiflex - bought as a student from a pro
but later on I wanted the - then wonderful - Canon A1 - so had to sell it for money - but after some years got back into 120....best all time film format IMHO
Here's a picture of my first baby...with a taking lens full of cleaning marks:
