Show us your M240 pics.

Nice to see folks posting here. I am wondering whether pics from the M262 (not the M262-D for Purity sake) but the plain old 262 welcome here?

David

David, I’m not the OP but I do now own his lovely 240. With sensors being so similar I’d welcome your M262 input.
Cheers

Thank you for noticing and taking the time to answer John :) I realized later that the Thread heading Show Us Your M240 Pics was misleading and there are even some M10 images posted.

I'm enjoying seeing what people are posting here. And look forward to see what you see with your new M!

Helen, I’m a big fan of window shots. Windows with curtains even better. As I scrolled up this thread from the bottom to the top I froze on this image. I was intrigued, impressed, and got a bit of a chill too! With the fire escape in the scene I had a flash of the movie “Rear Window”. When I looked to see who created this image I was a bit surprised to see it was you. I usually associate you with more grainy/gritty street work. This window shot is 5-star in my book. Bravo!

All the best,
Mike

Wow that very rewarding to hear... I Thank You for your thoughts and noticing my photos !

Interesting points since I am in a quandary as to keep shooting digital
I love the camera for its ease, simplicity beautiful resolution..
.just a love/hate with clean files

with film II was always surprised how it may turn out
With digital I pretty much know and feel the need to create more
'atmosphere'

Thanks again !

If you want the gritty look (and are planning on shooting B&W) crank the ISO up to 3200 and make sure whatever you are processing in has NR turned off. Esp. color noise reduction. Use a 4 stop ND filter if you want to keep the lens more opened up.

Think about giving DXO Filmpack 5's free trial a spin. There is an enormous amount of tweaking in there. It has 36 different B&W negative films and you can even mix and match tonality of one with grain from another. It handles the M240s DNGs fine.

Really nice mood with the light and of course your son's focus. And a world apart from what we know is happening around you there!

@Coppola82

woohoooo, very cinematic,
Those are Gorgeous Chris , really Beautiful...stunning tonality in digi

i always use a yellow filter on miss 240 shooting b&w
will have to try the vintage tone setting

so cool, Thanks !

Hi Helen,

you wouldn't use a color (yellow) filter if you shot a color film would you?
The M240 is a color camera and by software you can eliminate the color from the digital file. If you use a yellow filter the white balance of the camera is working hard to eliminate the yellow tint and you get a screwed file. If you use a MM (M9 Monochrom) it's a bw only digital camera and here the yellow filter can be used in a similar fashion and effect as when you were shooting bw film.
Enjoy your digital experience. ;)

Yes Klaus I get all that
I prefer the M240 more than the M9M
CRAzY I know but I think I do like CMOS more than CCD

As for digital
It’s a Wonderful medium
But still cannot Capture ‘LIGHT’ as Beautifully

Resolution and even tonal range are Beautiful in digital but just not Light and a certain type of Atmosphere

Just my silly stupid feelings ;)
