This one is a close crop...about 33% or so. Both developed in HC-110.

I shoot a lot of it. It's my most-used 400-speed film now, I think. I recently switched from souping it in Rodinal to Clayton F76+, to reduce grain. Seems nice either way.

I like what that Clayton F-76 produces compared to the Rodinal. Did you use it 1:1 ?

This is Neopan 400 @ 1600. No visible grain, a bit contrasty but in general quite alright.

No, I dilute it 1:9. Wouldn't 1:1 dilution make times extremely short?

I shot a ton of Neo400 and only tried HC-110. Loved what it gave me, although i had to be fairly careful with my temperature control (moreso than usual- my "usual" didn't involve me even looking at the temp!).

The way i souped it (fast and loose), it gave me very punchy contrast- which i liked, manageable grain, and pushed to 1600 very well.

The grain of this film is quite interesting, IMHO. Almost like popcorn.

Rodinal does give it a punchy kind of contrast, i noticed. and the grain is more noticeable. the creaminess is markedly decreased.

regularchickens, i was thinking d76 1:1. f76+, after looking at the mfd chart, yeah, way too short!

The first roll i developed (the vertical shot above is from it) i really screwed up the water temps when washing it, and severely damaged the emulsion. Check out the full-size on flickr, it had me pretty confused at first, as i'd never encountered this before.

When/if i am patient enough to develop more B&W, Neo400 will prob be the only film i shoot. I love this stuff.
