So here's my Canon EF. I got this about a year ago, with a rather nasty and plastic FD 35-70 f/4, which had seen much better days. I use this camera mainly with my Dad's FD 50mm f/1.8, but also with a Miranda 28mm f/2.8 and Canon FD 135mm f/2.5.
This is my first manual film camera and I love it. It's tough, heavy and the mechanical motion of use is a joy to use.

That is a definite!
So since you have an S2a, did you have to replace your viewfinder foam? I did the Moleskin routine with mine, but I haven't developed my test roll yet to see how good the focus is. It still seems a tad soft at infinity but I don't know if that's natural or not.

No, at least I don't think so 🙂 Did a bit more systematic test with the S2A earlier this week with focus and aperture, so will help verify if I have any issues. Wasn't at infinity though. I did post at least one picture in one of these threads a few weeks back; infinity focus seemed okay.
Now that I am a bit more comfortable loading and unloading film with the S2A I am beginning to enjoy it. The waist level finder is fun, my first experience with the concept. Although not a walk around camera, at least for me. More like a go somewhere, pull out the camera and tripod, take pictures, and then put it all back in the car.

The problem with the S2's is that the foam rots and the screen moves, so the focus point apparent and focus point actual differ. The distance scale will work, but the image will tell you something else. It's easily recognized by racking the lens to infinity. If the infinity distance is soft, foam is shot.
I only noticed this on mine after a trip to the faire. Some of my wide-open shots that I nailed the focus on are back-focused to the point of non-usability. Infinity now looks sharp(er) but I don't totally trust it yet.
