Show us your SLR ..... WHAT?

"Gentle Giant"
is a (formerly?) famous rock-group of the 70ties. The CD in the first picture is - in my opinion - suitable to this hulk of a camera.
It was a long quest to find a pristine F-1(n), Motor Drive MF and the EE-Finder.
All is in fully working order and YES, I take pictures with it ;-)
It looks very heavy and bulky, but it is a pleasure to work with it! In contrast to the New F-1, you have- besides continuous metering - a real AE-lock.
Greetings to all RFF Members and a happy New Year!
Peter

Thanks Peter

I immediately thought of Starsky and Hutch when I saw this. ;)

These are my Nikons. Can you spot the one Nikkormat FTn with chrome advance lever and no hot shoe? Then there are 3 FT2's and 2 FT3's. Single digit F's in the front row, with a column of 4 F3's. This is why I am done.

That's a great camera Peter. Except for the EE-Finder, I've got the same one though mine doesn't look as nice. Probably because it's one of my two workhorse cameras that I shoot with constantly in the studio. I've got it loaded with B&W which looks spectacular with that 85mm 1.2L. The D700 takes care of the color chores.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Best,
-Tim

hey, did you grab that out of my camera cabinet??

oh, wait - mine still has the sync socket cap, and yours doesn't have all that mud in the focusing ring......

neat to see someone else shooting the 'lowly' 50/1.8 AF-D on a manual focus camera tho. i actually leave a 50/1.2 AIS at home in all but the faintest light, 'cuz that little plastic thing beats it in size, weight, AND performance.

I think, the 50 1.8 Ai-s is even nicer to pick up, when size, budget and handling are requested.
It comes even cheaper, than the 1.8 AF-D, but it has got the silky smooth, perfect handling of the most expensive Nikkors, which is marvelous.

Mine stays with me, even though, there are faster, more expensive or more desireable 50mm in my bag.

It pairs wonderfully with a small, light FMx body or even with big and heavy rigs like a F3 with motor or a D3.

The Nikon AF-D lenses really feel like toys in workmanship and operation, when compared to their Ai-s counterparts.
