I was given a bag full of old cameras and lenses to dispose off. One is this Praktica Super TL. Massive beast - but it seems to work fine, though no batteries in it. All speed seems to be OK - shall put a film through it. Case is made from leather from very thick skinned east German cows!
I have a super TL. Nice camera and lens you have. My only complaint is how dim the viewfinders are on these (focusing with 2.8/28 is almost futile). They will take a normal alkaline battery, the meter circuit bleeds off any excess voltage - nifty!

If it would just stop raining I would take it out and test it. I agree, for indoor stuff the finder is very dim. Tried it with the 135f3.5 Soligor - you can barely see the viewfinder image at all.

I must do a photo like that of the OM-2 compared to the Minolta SRT.
The ME is a nifty machine. I once lived with an artist who had an ME Super. I bought her a P30, which she kinda turned her nose up at, and stuck with the older camera.
Perhaps she was right.

I did think about posting it next to my Nikon F5, but that would have looked comical. The ME is so small and carryable(such a word?). It's such fun to use.

Lovely ME there,
I have to admit that every time I take my ME Super out I wonder "why do I use anything else for 35mm?"
Unfortunately I often have the same thought with my Konicas and Canons as well, but none of that takes away from what a truly wonderful machine the ME/ME Super is.
totally compact, everything to hand (I know some don't like the buttons) and that viewfinder puts most to shame!

I especially like the ST 901 as I have 3 myself, like this one below.
and below here with one of my FX103 cameras, another favorite. There is a ruler to show their relative size. Both are small, and both work wonderfully.

It's interesting that I don't see as many of the silver 901s as I seem to see of the black 901s. But they all work beautifully. Do you use it often, and have Fujinon lenses for it?

How much does the ME weight?
The ME with the f1.7 lens weighs 654g, compared with 884g for my SPII with the f1.4 lens.
Here's a few pics to show size comparison.

The ME feels significently smaller and lighter.

Love that Fujica ST901. Looks like it could take a sledgehammer and say "Is that all you got?"

My latest, and new primary, film shooter w/ 28mm f2.8. Also have the stock 50mm f1.8 as well plus a winder and flash too. Bought them all as NOS and they're absolutely prisitine. I love the way these look.
This is my now secondary shooter, also in basically like new condition. Had one of these as my first SLR back in high school, so came around full-circle I guess. Like the compact size a lot.

This makes me miss my A-1 so much. Beautiful camera. Great all around too, and way ahead of it's time.

Really interesting cameras, not widely available I find which is a pity.

my new favourite 'modern' Filmcamera. The Viewfinder just blows me away, manual focus works that well, that I don't feel any wish for AF.

the vacuum film straightening sound is fun (similar to IS on digital bodys), shutter is almost softer than an M body, whisper quiet
built is among the best Ever,
smoothness is beyond words
led interface is superb, best ever, very intuitive
all the buttons you need, not more than you need
built in vertical grip (with deactivation lever)
nice ergonomics
(-)
Gas for Contax lenses...
rather on the heavy side
