The MX and the Pentax lenses seem much better made to me than the OM1 era Olympus gear. I had the OM's when they were fairly new, and don't know anything about later models after the OM1n. The MX is an amazing piece of equipment, though I don't much care for the meter display either. I just found the LED's annoying, so took the batteries out of mine.
Lenses are a little hit or miss in both systems, but also plenty of greats in both.

This is my favorite film camera with my favorite lens. I'm a convert from the F5 now. I've put 7 rolls through it and carried it with me every day. The weight and size are much easier to deal with than the F5 which is still to me the best pro film SLR ever made. Focusing with the F6 using manual lenses is easier than the F5 or indeed any other F series camera I've had. It's even bettter than my F3. Viewfinder info is bigger than all the others which I like as my eyes aren't the greatest any longer and the longer exposures seem sharper than with other SLR's I've had. A/F speed with my 24-70 and 85 is about equal to the D700 and D3 and seems just a tiny bit slower than the F5.
I've sold most of my Leica r/f lenses over the last 2 weeks. No remorse as I was not using them much. I'm selling everything else I have film wise except an M2 kit that stays for reasons other than photography.
All I need now is a 35 1.4 G and I'm done with all other film cameras.

(Leica R6.2.): That's just a Minolta XD7 with a red dot laser face-lift...![]()
The R6.2 has full mechanical speeds and is a Leica-unique model.
The best R in my eyes.
The XD7 is very similar to the Leica R4 (and its quirks
Later Minolta delivered the chassis for R5 and R7...

At some point, that's how I'd like to be...
but the FE2 is such a sweet camera... and I NEED a MF camera...

more recently, because Takumars captivated me, I have plunged into Pentax, specially their very early offerings
the Asahiflex IIA, M37 screw mount:
the 'Original Pentax, or 'Pentax AP', with it's original lens, the Takumar 2/58, reportedly the only Sonnar SLR normal lens ever produced:
Asahiflex, Pentax AP and Pentax SV

Awesome set!
Are they all working properly?

the Zhujiang, with the Chinese characters on both the body and the lens, looks really cool!
thank you! from how much I have tested them they all do, all I did was replacing the lightseals on the SV, those of the Asahiflex and Pentax AP look original and are in surprisingly good condition. Now comes the embarrasing part, so far I have only finished a roll of film with the AP, not with the others, and it turned out perfectly well.

Working examples of the Asahiflex seem somewhat rare. Most of the ones I see for sale seem to need work, and finding a good repairman who will work on them is difficult.
I'd love to shoot a roll through one.
And the AP is gorgeous!

Zhujiang (珠江) S-201。
Zhang, pretty one. What's the difference vs "ordinary" black S-201?

Someone said that this is a relatively rare version of Zhujiang cameras with a model name of S-201M. It has no mirror lock-up, and motor-drive features. The black S-201 has two versions - later mirror lock-up version, and earlier mirror-lock up and motor drive version.
