I have always enjoyed the Pentax camera line. Your collection of these is very well presented here. My only request is that you could add some identification of the models represented here (I am not familiar with every camera that you have shown). I would not normally comment if I did not find your post such a pleasure to view. Thanks :D

Asahi Pentax Spotmatic
Asahi Pentax
Asahiflex IIa
Asahi Pentax & Asahi Pentax SV
Asahi Pentax Spotmatic Black

Thanks seamuis for the addition of your cameras' ID information. All of these cameras appear to be exceptional examples. The Asahiflex IIa, in particular, looks to be "like new" in appearance. Also, the way that you photograph your cameras accentuates their best qualities, and makes for a very interesting presentation.
...I look forward to additional posts of your collection.

haha, well none of those were attempts to be quality photographs and all were shot in natural light, most on the edge of my bed! I’m glad you ilke them though. I do have a few others that I might show off.

Séamuis: brilliant, really! Although the Spottie is a beautiful classic, I love the look of the older meterless M42 bodies (original AP, SV, S2, S3, etc. etc.) even better. It's something to do with the additional chrome on the front of the body (to the sides of the lens mount) that the Spotties don't have, and the less tall proportions of the top plate. Beautiful kit, especially with the period-appropriate semi-automatic lenses sporting additional chrome. And the museum-quality Asahiflex -- oh wow! How is that body, and the slower M37 Takumars, as a shooter? (If you're shooting with it.)

I have aways felt the exact same way about the pre-spotmatic bodies. they are some of the most elegant and beautiful camera designs, and the auto-takumars are just as elegant, but also great users! the asahiflex’ shutter is bad and useless at any speed except 1/500 and it doesn’t get used. the asahi-kogaku takumar is a great little lens (just as small as any rangefinder lens) but you need an m37 to m42 adapter to use it on a Kmount body and those are very rare. I had one but sold it. the SV that appears above I no longer own (I showed a photo of it in another thread) and since, I haven’t used any of my SLR’s much. most just a Bessa R3a.

i actually don't even own this camera, i'm just borrowing it. but hey! maybe i'll try to buy it from its owner if i like it. ;)
