Nice braising OM1's look nice in black.

Beautifully photoghraphed !

That A900 is in my opinion a beautiful camera as well, concerning DSLRs.
It does have still some of these important, classic SLR design characteristics, other modern DSLRs don't.

Ethan, this is absolutely wonderful so far - like being in the first week with a new girlfriend. You don't know, where it's heading, but it sort of feels good ;-)

I have not seen the negatives yet, just shooting a bulk package full of TriX 400 @ 3200 (hope, it comes out at least as good, as my regular TX400 @3200 135 film).

This thing was expensive, so I am hoping, once, I see the negs, I will have that "woahh! - effect" and once, I make the first prints @ 13x13 another "woahh! - effect" and hopefully, when seeing my first really big prints from it yet another …

These cameras nowhere near are feeling as smooth and refined, as a Leica M, but they do feel classy and I am after the neg in the first place.

I really dig the way, Hasselblad implemented the metering and exposure controls on these 200 series bodies. You are actually always informed about your lighting in EV, which is a lot nicer, than 35mm camera meter readings (although the Hasselblad is nowhere near as quick and intuitive to use, than the 35mm cameras - for now at least).

Good luck with your 6x7 ;-)

How far did it set you back? I think I found a bargain, got my 503cx (90s's body) and 80mm (70's lens) for about $950. I think you got the nicer lens though ;)

Yes the a900 is great to take picture with and to look at! IMO
the ergonomic is wonderful and the Quality of the images are great too. I finally bought it once it was discounted in My Country.

My Konica Auto-Reflex and the Nikon adapter, mostly used with my 55mm Micro Nikkor f3.5. OK, it is stop-down operation only and it does get a bit dim at f22 or f32. Mostly used for recoding equipment in macro-mode anyway - and on a tripod. With the 1/2 frame selected you can do 72-74 frames of various serial numbers etc. Easier than writing them down anyway.

About the time I started looking into owning an Auto-Reflex several years ago, Tom A, the price of them went through the roof. I'll just have to make do with my Olympus Pen SLRs.

Forever Pentax

Forever Pentax

The world's smallest SLR ever made! The viewfinder is actually putting dslrs into shame! Next to a 120 roll of film, that kit is tiny, tiny and small ! Those lenses are pretty amazingly sharp too!

Dan, I got this one at a swapmeet a couple of years ago for $75 - with the standard 50 mm lens. My previous one gave up the ghost and it wasen't worth the cost of repair at the time. They are still around though.

Picked this up at Goodwill the other day. I needed one to go with the X-700 I got last year. They said the shutter was not functioning, so I figured for $12.55 it was worth the risk that a dead battery was the only problem. It works fine after a bit of a sponge bath to get all the grunge off it.

An absolutely beautiful kit that you have assembled here. Pentax is one of the camera makers that is in my current camera inventory and is represented by a K1000, an ES and an ESII camera models. The K1000 belongs to my wife and the 2 ES cameras I bought for 2 reasons. The 1st reason, was to take advantage of the fantastic screw mount Takumars (in particular the early rare earth 50/1.4) and the 2nd reason, is because the ESII was the "runner-up" to being my first SLR but lost out to the Canon FTBn. What I really wanted, at that time, was a Nikon F instead of the Canon but, I could not afford the F and 2 small children, so I opted for a family and settled on the FTBn (though I do not think that the FTB was a bad choice, it just was not a Nikon F). So now, after all these many years, I finally can afford to own more than one camera manufacturer's camera line, and so when the opportunity presented itself to buy 2 minty Pentax ES cameras, I took advantage of it.
Sorry for the wordy ramble  but all that was said so that I could say this, I am unfamiliar with the MX camera model, other than that it uses the bayonet mount Pentax lens. What are the other prime reasons you find, to own this camera model?
