It's much smaller than the K series cameras like the K1000, yet with professional features such as interchangeable focusing screens. It can partner well with the slightly larger and more feature-laden LX. It's the same size as the ME and its kin, but more attuned to the needs of the serious photographer.... I am unfamiliar with the MX camera model, other than that it uses the bayonet mount Pentax lens. What are the other prime reasons you find, to own this camera model?

Thanks Doug for the info. It does resemble the LX now that you mention it.
Michael, very nice looking ME Super with a very prized lens.
You know a guy could really develop a serious case of GAS hanging around here.

Bessaflex TM, Cosina's updated version of the Spotmatic and my two Pentax lenses, a 20mm f4.5 and the Macro 50f4. These lenses are still cheap, the 20 and the 50 Macro cost me all of $80 a couple of years ago.

Tom,
Must be a sign of the times (4/3 digital raiders) but a minty copy of the Pentax 20 sold recently on e-bay for over $300, it was sold by BrooklynCamera. I had been keeping an eye on it but it just went too pricey on me.

Yes GRD Paul ...but I`ve been falling outa love with it this winter.
Turn up the ISO and things fall apart .
The Pentax and the fast 50 has been better at delivering.
Thanks Mike ....the lens was in mint condition best they`ve seen in fifteen years the dealer said ....how could I resist

Some more Yashica stuff; my freebie FX-3 with the lens off my short-circuited FR-I. The original leatherette covering was shot, but scraps of blue leather solved that...

The Nikon 20mm is better - by a fair margin. The Pentax has some dramatic fall off and wide open, soft corners. When the weather(if the weather?) improves, I am doing some more shots with it.

A dinosaur? Hardly! Thanks for your beautiful shot!
One more Yashica from me too. The 200-AF, a dinosaur of a AF camera...

I was about to post my SLR collection but the iPhone died and the webcam isn't up to snuff for an indoor photo.
I may have to pull a W. Eugene Smith, and pose with all of my SLRs dangling around my neck... a Nikon D700, F100, F4s, FG, Mamiya RZ67, M645, and a Fujica AX-3!
