It only affects the Super Multi Coated (or SMC) Takumars which allow full aperture metering on the Sptmatic F. Super Takumars should be ok on the Zenit.
Ronnie
Correct - the older Super Takumar worked well on my Zenit

I also bought a Canon EF (electronic F?) a few days ago for a very good price. However, the camera has a big dent on the left side of the top cover. So I desided to give it a try to fix it. No one has told me how to remove the top cover, but I have some experience with other cameras. It should not be very difficult.
Now the top cover is removed, and you can see how complex a camera it is! And the dent on the top cover is almost invisible now. The camera fuctions well. There is a tiny spring for the shutter release button that is difficult to install, or perhaps I did not follow correct procetures. It looks like the camera even used jewel bearings that I haven't seen in other cameras.
Cheers

my favorite 6x6 - an Exakta 66 "Super-Baier"
Rolf-Dieter Baier took as a basis an Exakta 66 Mod2 body (the most desirable for the modifications as it lacks the later impractical factory mirror prerelease workaround job but has already the latest Rolleiflex focussing screen and upgraded film advance).
It then gets the full package of machined film rails, additional film rollers, adjusted pressure plate, mechanical film advance indicator and the Baier mirror pre-release mechanism with self timer delete.
Result: the smoothest Pentacon 6 based 6x6 camera ever made ;-)

My first "real" camera, bought brand new 41 years ago this weekend:
Needs a good CLA, but otherwise she's great.

Heavy as a brick, but still a joy to shoot with in the studio.
Wish I hadn't sold her.

A real workhorse. Held onto her until everyone wanted digital. She was replaced with a D700, but all her glass transferred over.

A lovely Konica T2 - unfortunately suffering from the pre-firing issue.

Get it quick before a hipster gets it.My daughter still has my bag of Pentax K-mount stuff. She shoots with an iPhone. Maybe she'd send 'em back...?

Last week I scored this SF1N (body only) for $9 plus shipping. Seems to be working perfectly, and it even came with a good 2CR5 battery, which is worth as much as I paid for the camera!
