Leica LTM Show Your Elmar 5cm 3.5 Photos

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
I'm going to be on the hunt for one of these (trying to pay a reasonable price for a clean one). I've got a IIIf that has no lens and I figure I'd get it cleaned up and have one lens to pair it with for the times I'm feeling nostalgic.

I think the early Leica bodies just look incredible with their tiny collapsible lenses.

These are misericords - a ledge hidden under a seat - so that monks and choristers could sneak a quick sit-down or lean-to during a long service when they were meant to be standing.
These are something of a find for me - they are early medieval oak carvings, every one a little different. Ludlow, Shropshire. They are in a remarkable state of preservation. The carvings and seat are one solid piece of oak - the seat probably started out four or five inches thick. Those chisel marks are likely to be between 7/800 years old.

It's difficult not to imagine that this is the face of one of those craftsmen working in the church at the time these were carved.
Leica 111c, 3.5/5cm uncoated Elmar. Available light, no flash.

I had a IIIf for 50+ years, the same one. But more important I've had my IIIf's lens, the 50mm f3.5 Elmar for the same time. It has given me endless joy. So even though I've posted too many images from my Elmar here is another. Nothing special but if you could see how sharp this shot is you would be impressed.

A slight shutter drag on your IIIf there, Scott. Very nice image though.

Shot a roll through my IIIc yesterday with a pre-war 5cm f/3.5 Elmar on it. Should have some results this evening.

Leica 111c, 3.5/5cm Elmar, Ilford XP2.
These are a lot of fun, but tricky to capture with the low light normally available in a church.
This one dates to around 1740 or so.

Love it when you go to Church, geek.

How do you develop XP2?
I send out my developing / scanning, and I don't know what they use, but I like the looks of this picture and want mine to look like it.

I'm sure it's standard C-41 process being XP2 is a B&W C-41 film. I think what you are seeing is the rendition of this lens in bright sunlight. Some call it the Leica Glow. If you look through most all the B&W photo's here it seems to show up. I love this look & was one of the reasons I bought an elmar a few years ago.
