Show your photos from a vintage folder

Pre-War Super Ikonta "C" with Tessar f/4.5 using Astia I think. Camera was later stolen from trunk.

I always wanted to shoot medium format but only came across folders for the first time last year and purchased a Perkeo I. I was astounded by the results, the tonal range, detail captured and the clarity from such a simple design. This was quickly followed by a Balda Baldix/Ennagon and a Super Baldax with Ennit lens. I'm thinking about gettting an Iskra now.

At first I was worried about shooting colour slide, but with a simple meter or sunny 16 the results have been fine. I love the how the whole process of taking a photo is slowed down. You become more aware of the lighting conditions and learn to read that.

The other thing is that they scan well so you end up with the equivalent of a 30+ Mp digital camera without any nasty artefacts and at a fraction of the cost.

Old cameras are great relaxation tools. My son is in a rather stressful career and shooting my (now his) 50 year old Hasselblad and doing his own processing is how he relaxes.

Zeiss Nettar 518/516

These pics were shot with my late mothers Zeiss Ikon Nettar with the 75mm Novar. My mother died last year, 87 years old. For the last 6-7 years of her life she did a lot of digital photography, documenting various things in her community for the society of local history i Maarslet (small town in Denmark). The Nettar had not been used for 30 years untill I loaded it with Ektar 100 a couple of months ago - everything seems to work still...rather amazing 🙂

And no - those dots are not large specs of dust; there were lots of seagulls in the air that day 😀

of course whom ever chipped that advice in granite was pretty wise. i have often heard that Absinthe is not only the best cure (for everything) but makes the heart grow fonder too.

My wife tells me that she read an article in the local paper the other day stating that around the time the fountain was made there were only three thousand people in Petaluma, but there were fifty saloons! Apparently the temperance people decided that things were out of hand...ergo the fountain😉
 
Just found this inspiring thread. I bought a Super Isolette from Certo6 but not make use of it often (I use Rolleiflex most). Here is one shot take with it and Ektar 100
