shutter actuations

along with questions about shutter problems, serial numbers and other things rd1, i thought i'd post a question about what your shutter actuation count is for early 2009:

mine is just at 7,000...and no problems to report.

How do you check it? Or are you just counting the file number?

yes, thats what i've been doing, assuming the shutter count hasn't been reset

Then I guess I've taken mine from 1342 to 5925 in five months of ownership...anyone know what the shutter's rated to? At 1000 frames a month, this should last me...how long?

I'm not sure the camera didn't continue the numbering from another body when I stuck a card in without formatting it - like so many Canons do - plus I can't tell whether it already rolled over (10,000+) before I got it, but I'm guessing not as it was pretty new. So the count is possibly off, but possibly not.

On 2 different ones I've owned since 2005, I've put about 6-8K on each.

I own mine since December 2006. Around 11.000 actuations so far.
