Hi again,

In a previous thread you all helped me take care of an occasional shutter bounce issue on a FED-5 (http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59781).

Now I've got my hands on a "well used" FED-2 that has a pesky little shutter bounce. Thinking that I would be able to take care of it in a similar manner as with the FED-5, I find that I'm not able to locate a similar mechanism on the bottom of the camera. Is this something that can be done like the FED-5?

Thanks Much,
Blake

The Fed-2 doesn't have this mechanism. I would guess that the only solution might be to adjust curtain tension.

As fanshaw says, there's no brake on a FED 2. A smooth-running example shouldn't require all that much tension so I'd start by backing both roller tensions 1/2 a turn and see what happens.

Thanks guys. I was able to get the bouncing down by loosening up the tension on the first curtain a bit.

... but not before going down the path of over-tensioning it! First time playing with those little nuts and screws and I was going in th wrong direction. ;-) I have to say that I did learn a few things with this one.

Thank You!
Blake
