Hello;

I'm looking for a fairly long shutter release cable for my Nikon S2.
preferably something I can shoot various self portraits at a distance ; maybe a max range of ten feet...?
I've wondering if they were ever made that long?

a plunger release capable of longer exposures would be nice as well; I've seen one that was released by air pressure, but I don't believe that would allow for held exposures.

as always any help would be appreciated 🙂

All the extra long shutter releases I've seen were of the air plunger type, but that doesn't mean a cable one wasn't made. The longest one I've ever had was three feet. Newer cameras had electrical contacts for a release cable, so you could get them in just about any length you needed. And then there are the cable-to-electrical contact adapters so you could use an old cable.

The air-bulb type can be used on the B setting, as long as you can keep a good grip on the bulb, like standing on it to keep it from re-inflating. And then hope there are no leaks in the tubing.
